Goodbye QSTAR

It is with some degree of sadness that we confirm the final demise of the QSTAR XL, after a long and valiant battle with failing components. The QSTAR served a broad range of researchers since its purchase back in 2003, not just those from SBS, but from numerous schools and departments around UoA, as well as other Universities and CRIs. While LC-MS/MS hardware in general improved markedly in performance over this timeframe, the QSTAR was still delivering useful data up until the last few years – an undeniable testament to its pedigree. We now look forward to the outcome of the Capex process currently underway to provide a replacement instrument with even more utility to the research community.
