Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry Research Platform

MaSH are pleased to announce that the University of Auckland has established the Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry Research Platform (2022). The LSMS Platform will coordinate the current and future operational aspects of a subset of the University’s mass spectrometry equipment that routinely analyses life science-related samples. The platform management group, made of up professional and academic staff, work to develop and execute instrument investment strategies, ensure appropriate staffing in each LSMS specialist area, and align financial performance. An academic director (Dr Gus Grey) has been appointed to coordinate LSMS platform activities, link with professional societies and monitor the latest activities in life sciences mass spectrometry to promote cutting edge knowledge and approaches to the platform. In addition, the LSMS Platform supports MaSH activities through co-funding of a bioinformatics research fellow and symposium activities.
